SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings is now less than 72 hours away, and the excitement is palpable.

Fans could barely contain themselves while meeting Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount in South Philly Thursday evening.

"I'm an Eagles fan, die-hard Eagles fan, every day," said Justin Stanton of Sicklerville, N.J. "We bleed green."

"We need them to be as loud as they can," said an appreciative Blount. "That goes a real long way for us."

Showing enthusiasm for their beloved Eagles has never been a problem for Philadelphians.

That's why officials are already urging businesses to be proactive and prepare for possibly raucous fans come Sunday.

Friday morning Deputy Police Commissioner Dennis Wilson was scheduled to discuss game-day preparedness.

Police will be particularly focused on the intersection of Frankford and Cottman avenues in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, a longtime favorite gathering spot for sports celebrations.

An advisory was sent out earlier this week by 15th district police to business owners, urging them to remove trash cans and flower pots and have protective grates in place and secured.

Bar owners were asked to sell alcoholic beverages in plastic containers. They were also strongly encouraged to have any surveillance cameras on and recording this weekend.
