Man shot and wounded in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man is in the hospital after being shot in the chest in West Philadelphia.

It happened before 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 5300 block of Parrish Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Police say they found four shell casings at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine who shot the man and why.
