NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- No child should ever go hungry.

That's the goal behind a program that kicked off Tuesday in North Philadelphia.

Mayor Jim Kenney joined the organization "Fun Safe Philly Summer" in handing out free meals to children at Reyburn Park.

The goal of the summer program is to give kids access to free meals and snacks after the school year ends.

The initiative also connects teenagers with summer job opportunities.
