Powerball jackpot soars to $317 million

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Powerball jackpot is soaring ahead of the next drawing tonight and people are scrambling to buy up tickets.

The $317 million prize would be the 11th largest in Powerball history.

The cash prize is worth $220.6 million.

This is the game's largest jackpot offering in nearly a year.

The last big jackpot hit on February 19, 2014, when one ticket sold in California won $425.3 million.
