Police: Officer opens fire on gunman in South Philadelphia

Police have one person in custody and are looking for another after an officer involved shooting incident in South Philadelphia.

Officers responded around 9:14 this morning to a report of a person with a gun in the 2200 block of South 25th Street in the Tasker Homes section.

Police tell Action News that once on location the alleged gunman displayed his weapon, prompting the officer to open fire.

One male was apprehended and a gun was recovered.

Police are continuing to search for a second male, who is believed to have fled through Wilson Park.

There are no reports of injuries.
