WATERFORD TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A heartwarming rescue was caught on camera when a firefighter pulled a dog from a well in Waterford Township, New Jersey.

Now authorities are asking for your help in their attempt to find the dog's owner.

The dog was found trapped at the bottom of a 12 foot abandoned well located off of Columbia Avenue.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, and firefighters lowered a ladder into the well.

Video of the rescue shows a firefighter go down and pick up the frightened pup, then carry him up the ladder to safety.

Authorities say they aren't sure how long the dog was in the well or who he belongs to.
