Girl struck in Frankford hit-and-run

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- A young girl was hospitalized after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday near Frankford Avenue and Margaret Street.

Authorities say the striking driver fled the scene.

The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

No word on her condition but she is expected to survive.

Investigators are searching for the driver of the striking vehicle.
