Victim shot and killed getting out of car in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man in Chester, Delaware County.

It happened at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Engle Street.

Officers arrived a few minutes later to find a 33-year-old man lying face down in the street.

He had been shot several times in the head.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of family members.

Police believe the victim was ambushed as he was getting out of a car.

They have not commented on a possible motive.
