New surveillance released in area scooter thefts

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have released new surveillance video of a pair of thieves who've been tied to 17 scooter thefts in the area.

The incidents happened between April 1st and May 21st.

You see the suspects walking along the 1900 block of Carpenter street in South Philadelphia back on May 6th.

They walked passed a scooter but then turned around, picked it up and walked off with it.

In each case, the locks and chains used to secure the scooters were cut.
