CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Pedestrians walking around one Center City neighborhood won't have to look up in to the sky to see a rainbow.

The crosswalks at 13th and Locust Streets have been painted red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Painters pulled off the surprise overnight.

The rainbow crosswalks are part of an overall movement in support of Philadelphia's LGBT community.

They will be officially dedicated on July 5th, during the 50th anniversary celebration of the first US LGBT Rights Group demonstrations.
