Police: 12-year-old boy slips on rock, drowns in Chester County creek

WARWICK TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A 12-year-old boy in Chester County has died after authorities say he slipped on a wet rock and drowned in a creek.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday along the French Creek near the 3400 block of St. Peters Road in Warwick Township.

Police say the boy was walking along the creek at St. Peters Village when he slipped on a wet rock and fell into the rain swollen creek.

Rescuers got the boy out of the water and took him to Brandywine Hospital.

They were not able to revive him.

No other information has been released.
