EDDYSTONE, Pa. (WPVI) -- All lanes have reopened after an accident and fuel spill that shutdown parts of I-95 near the Blue Route in Delaware County.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

A tractor-trailer and two vehicles were involved in the accident.

State Police say the driver of the truck fell asleep at the wheel.

The impact of the crash caused the saddle fuel tank to the tractor-trailer to rupture and leak onto the roadway.

The fire department sprayed foam on the fuel.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

Police say charges are pending against the truck driver.

Both lanes remained closed for several hours after the crash.

One lane opened back up around 4:45 p.m. and both lanes were back open shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The accident is under investigation.
