Serial robber targets Rite Aid stores in West Philadelphia

Police are asking the public's help to find a suspect who they say is behind a string of robberies in West Philadelphia.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are asking the public's help to find a suspect who they say is behind a string of robberies in West Philadelphia.

Police believe the suspect is responsible for three roberies at Rite Aid stores on the 5200 block and 5600 block of Baltimore Avenue between August 20 and August 24.

Each time, the suspect was caught on camera bringing several items to the counter and announcing a robbery while simulating a weapon in his sweatshirt pocket.

The robber has stolen nearly $1,000 so far.

There were no reports of any injuries during these robberies.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 20-years-old, 150lbs. with a dark complexion and acne. He was wearing sunglasses, gray khaki shorts and a sweatshirt. He fled on a dark colored mountain bike in two of the robberies.
