Child, 7, on scooter hit by truck in Wilmington

WILMINGTON -- A 7-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in Wilmington.

The accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. Monday at 4th and Delamore streets.

Police say the child was riding a scooter and was hit by a pickup truck.

Medics responded and took the child to A.I. DuPont Hospital for care.

Authorities are not disclosing the victim's condition.
