PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia schools will be closed an extra day because of the pope's visit.

The Philadelphia School District announced schools and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 28th.

This decision also means Spring Break will be shortened.

Classes will now be held Monday, March 21st as a makeup day.

Because of the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur Wednesday and the previous decision to close schools Thursday and Friday for the pope, Tuesday is the last day of school in Philadelphia for a week.
