Philadelphia police say a man is dead after a verbal disagreement turned violent in the Cedarbrook section of the city.

Philadelphia police say one man is dead after a verbal disagreement turned violent in the Cedarbrook section of the city.

Gunfire erupted at 9:40 p.m. Monday in the basement of a home in the 8300 block of Williams Avenue.

When officers arrived they found a 29-year-old man shot in the back of the head.

Police rushed him to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.

Investigators learned two men had been arguing before the fatal shot was fired.

A search is underway for the gunman.
