MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in south Jersey want your help tracking down two brazen and armed burglars who ambushed a hotel.

It happened Monday night at the Super 8 on Fellowship Road in Mount Laurel.

Surveillance video shows a hooded suspect jumping onto the counter, removing a glove and scooping up cash while, just feet away, another suspect pulls out a gun and points it at a startled desk clerk.

That person was the only one on duty.

"He was very aggressive with the gun, right in her face. You can't imagine how she must have felt," said Dep. Chief Steve Riedener.

Riedener says the suspects, two black males, were dressed in hooded coats. One wore a mask.

He says it appears the robbery was carefully planned and executed.

"They certainly knew what they were going to do, they had no problem pulling a gun on a female employee and it was obviously all for the cash," said Riedener.

"I wouldn't expect a regular person would know exactly where the cash drawers were behind the counter hotel. He had some knowledge it appears. Where he got that knowledge from, we don't know," said Riedener.

Super 8 Hotel general manager Joe Pergine says - and police agree - an armed robbery here is highly unusual. The hotel is cooperating with the investigation. Pergine says the clerk who had the gun pointed at her was shaken up but, thankfully, not injured

"She's OK. A little traumatized from the situation, but I talked to her yesterday. She's doing better," he said.

"We certainly want to get these guys off the street and we need the public's help to do that," said Riedener.

If you recognize the suspects or have any information about the armed robbery, you are asked to call police immediately.
