The Philadelphia School District has removed the principal of Bartram High School, while it investigates allegations he pushed a student.

A spokesman says Abdul-Mubdi Muhammad has been temporarily reassigned to an office where he will not come into contact with students.

But no charges have been filed.

Muhammad took over as principal last year amid an especially challenging time for the Southwest Philadelphia high school after several teachers, staffers and students were attacked.

Muhammad vowed to change the culture.
