MAHWAH, N.J. (WPVI) -- A bear problem has forced rangers to close some hiking trails in North Jersey.

Officials at Ramapo State Forest say they've had to euthanize four bears since October 5th.

None of them seemed afraid of humans, which is not natural for bears.

State wildlife experts are reminding people not to feed the animals, because that's what could be causing them to feel at ease.

There is no shortage of food, as black bears prepare to hibernate.
