A body found on a Strathmere, New Jersey beach has been identified as a former mayor of a Gloucester County borough.

STRATHMERE, N.J. (WPVI) -- A body found on a Strathmere, New Jersey beach has been identified as a former mayor of a Gloucester County borough.

43-year-old Jeff Radio served as mayor of Clayton from 2009 to 2012.

Radio's body was discovered on the Sumner Avenue beach shortly before noon on Tuesday.

The body was found lying on the edge of the surf.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but it's still not known what caused Radio's death.
