WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. -- Authorities have identified a body that was found floating in the Mullica River over the weekend.

State police said Monday they used fingerprint records to identify the body as 27-year-old John Kohlbecker. The Pennsylvania man had been missing since Feb. 11.

Investigators say the cause of death was drowning and hypothermia.

A fisherman in Washington Township spotted Kohlbecker's body on Saturday. A state police spokesman has said it appeared that the body "had been in the water for a little while."

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes Unit at 609-561-1800 ext. 3355.
