ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- First responders in Atlantic City hit the ice Saturday night to raise money for a police officer injured in the line of duty.

The Atlantic City Guns and Hoses team took on the Blue Knights of the Camden County Police Department.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefited Officer Josh Vadell and his family.

Officer Vadell's wife and three daughters, including his newborn, attended the game.

Vadell was shot responding to a robbery outside a casino back in September.

He's now out of the hospital and recovering at a rehabilitation center.

The charity event included a silent auction, raffle, and live music at the Flyer's Skate Zone in Atlantic City.
