Times when area rivers and creeks are expected to crest

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The National Weather Service has posted times when area rivers and creeks are expected to crest, then drop below flood stage.

Crest times for the Schuylkill River were posted as follows:

3:00 a.m. Thursday in Norristown, 8:00 a.m. in Philadelphia and 10:00 a.m. in Pottstown.

Major flooding was expected in Norristown, moderate flooding in Philadelphia and minor flooding in the Pottstown area.

The Pennypack Creek was expected to crest at 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

Perkiomen Creek will crest at noon Thursday.

Neshaminy Creek crests at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

The Brandywine River in Chester County will not dip below flood stage until Friday morning.

And the Assunpink Creek in southern New Jersey is not expected to crest until Friday at noon.
