VIDEO: Authorities say home invasion not random
The DA released the name of the victim Monday, saying the house was targeted.

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two males are in custody in connection to the shooting death of a man during a home invasion in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County District Attorney and Police Chief have scheduled a press conference for Thursday morning.

Police say the incident happened on Sunday, September 27th around 11 p.m. in the 2300 block of Philmont Avenue in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland Township.

The District Attorney's Office identifies the victim as 53-year-old Kevin Brown.

Authorities say he, his wife, and at least two of the Brown's three children were at home at the time of the home invasion.

The suspects opened fire, hitting Brown in the neck.

A neighbor described the gunfire, telling Action News she heard at least fifteen popping sounds coming from the home.

Brown and his wife both escaped through a second floor bedroom window and jumped down to the ground where he was found by arriving police officers.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The DA did not confirm the number of suspects involved in the home invasion, but was very clear that this was a targeted attack.

Assistant DA Kevin Steele explains, "I think it's important to note that we don't think this is a random attack on a house. These folks were targeted."

Police say they do have leads in the investigation and that Brown's family is cooperating.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Moreland Police at 215-947-3132 or Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3368.
