DA: Montco woman murdered 96-year-old neighbor

EAST NORRITON TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A Montgomery County woman is charged with third-degree murder in the death of her 96-year-old neighbor.

Elisabeth Anna Floyd, 34, was charged following death of the man five months after he was found seriously injured.

The district attorney's office said the victim, Alfred Payne, was found in the driveway of his home in the 500 block of Marion Avenue on the morning of September 21, 2015.

Police say his injuries included a hip fracture, requiring surgery.

He was eventually sent to a long-term care facility, but died in February.

The D.A. said the charges against Floyd followed an autopsy and a review of medical records.

Investigators did not disclose a possible motive.

Floyd was arrested on Friday and is being held without bail.
