OLD CITY (WPVI) -- Andrew Hazelton's family is still trying to make sense of what happened Friday night at an Old City bar.

They believe the Blackwood, N.J. father of two got caught in the middle of a domestic quarrel - a girl trying to make her boyfriend jealous - and paid for it with his life.

33-year old Andrew Hazelton from Blackwood, N.J. has died from a stabbing inside a restaurant and bar in Old City.

8-year-old Cherish Hazelton choked back tears Monday night as dozens of family and friends gathered by candlelight to pray for her dad.

"Yesterday my mom told me; she said he got into an accident," Cherish told Action News.

Detectives say an argument erupted inside Bleu Martini and ended with the 33-year-old stabbed in the neck, likely with a bottle.

"Some girl was trying to make her boyfriend mad. They had just gotten to the bar. She went and danced on him," the victim's sister-in-law Sephra Smith said. "[Andrew] was caught in the middle of something he honestly didn't know nothing about."

Hazelton died Sunday from his injuries, making him the city's fourth weekend homicide.

"He was such a loveable guy, funny, a great, great father," Tiara Barclay, Cherish's mother, said.

Cherish says she's still texting her father and showed a text she recently wrote: "Daddy I miss you."

"He's in a better place, and I'm going to miss him," Cherish said.

Cherish says she just wants whoever did this to have a conscience.

"Turn yourself in and be in jail for the rest of his life," Cherish said.
