Delaware school worker charged with sex crime

SMYRNA, Del. (WPVI) -- Smyrna police have arrested a school employee on 4th degree rape of an underage boy.

Thirty-eight-year-old Karen Brooks works at Smyrna Middle School.

However, police say the victim was 17 at the time and not a student there.

Investigators say Brooks admitted to having sex with the boy several times while her husband and children were away in April.

The Smyrna School District Superintendent says Brooks is now on unpaid leave.
