FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Authorities say a suspect opened fire on a man and woman, then briefly barricaded himself inside a home in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. along Pratt Street near Roosevelt Boulevard.

Police say a man, who was standing on the corner, opened fire on a couple as they sat inside a car.

The man and women were taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspected shooter fled the scene and went into a home in the 5200 block of Akron Street.

Officers and SWAT teams quickly responded and after an hour long barricade, the man was taken into custody.

The man has not been formally charged.

Police are investigating.
