EMT attacked by patient in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Paramedics had to call police Monday morning to help them with a patient who they say assaulted an EMT.

The incident happened at 8:13 a.m. at 5th and Mercy streets in South Philadelphia.

The medic was cut on the arm and was spat on.

The patient fled police and went up onto a nearby roof where he was finally taken into custody.

The injuries to the paramedic were said to be minor.
