Father seeks justice for son's murder in Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A father in search of justice is asking for the public's help Saturday night.

Phillip Money says in 2014 his son, Armir Thomas-Money's life was on the right track before it was tragically cut short.

"He became a father very young and he embraced that responsibility, and he had just taken on a new job before he was murdered," said Money.

At about 4:40 a.m. on Sunday November 9, police were called to Front and Vine Streets in Camden for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived they couldn't locate a victim.

A short time later, they were told a gunshot victim had arrived at Cooper University Hospital.

That victim was 24-year-old Armir. He was pronounced dead just before 6 a-m.

Investigators say they have surveillance video of Armir going in and out of an afterhours club before he was shot.

Money says, "There were kids outside, in cars and hanging around cars, so our family is confident that you know that people know."

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a one-thousand dollar reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Armir's father has a message for anyone who may have information about his son's murder.

"I believe that the young people in Camden need to start to embrace the idea that black lives matter because at the end of the day all lives matter. So I'd appreciate if they could help us out and not just solve my son's murder but many of the other murders," said Money.
