FBI, police search for South Philadelphia bank robber

Philadelphia police along with the FBI are on the hunt for a suspect who robbed a bank in South Philadelphia.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police along with the FBI are on the hunt for a suspect who robbed a bank in South Philadelphia.

The robbery occurred Wednesday morning inside the Prudential Bank branch on the 1700 block of South Broad Street.

Police say the suspect walked into the bank at 10:30 a.m. and handed the teller a demand note.

He got away with an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years-old, 5'8" tall with a medium build, short dark hair and a stubbly beard. He was wearing a red t-shirt with black chevron stripes on the front, red shorts, yellow socks and white sneakers.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
