Female jogger attacked, beaten on trail in Newark, Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- People who run the trails near Phillips Park in Newark, Delaware are being warned to keep their guard up after a female jogger was beaten by a masked man Monday night.

The victim told police she was on the James Hall Trail around 8:45 p.m. when someone knocked her down from behind and repeatedly punched her face.

The man then took off without taking anything.

The victim is recovering around the hospital.

Authorities are working on a suspect description, but don't have much to go on.
