Philadelphia firefighters battled freezing temperatures while working to put out a suspicious fire in the Germantown section early Saturday morning.

The blaze broke out just past midnight in the rear of a 3-story vacant house on the 100 block of Seymour Street.

Firefighters were met with flames shooting from the upper floors.

Ice, high winds and cold temperatures also caused problems for the crews.

Firefighters were forced to spread salt to keep anyone from falling.

Fortunately no one was hurt, but an adjoining home was also damaged in the fire.

So far, there is no word yet on what sparked the blaze.
