Freon leak prompts evacuations in Roxborough

About 10 homes are being evacuated after a report of a truck leaking gasoline in Philadelphia's Roxborough section.

ROXBOROUGH (WPVI) -- About 10 homes had to be evacuated in Roxborough after a beverage truck began leaking freon.

The happened just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of Kingsley Street.

Police say a beverage company truck was disabled and broke down in the middle of the block.

As the driver was waiting for a tow, a freon leak was coming from a tank.

As a precaution, about 10 homes were evacuated.

The incident was under control by 6:30 p.m., and residents were allowed to return.
