Funeral services set for fallen Del. corrections officer
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, for Lt. Steven Floyd, who died after inmates took Floyd and three others hostage on Wednesday at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware.

SMYRNA, Del. (WPVI) -- Funeral services are set for Lt. Steven Floyd, who died after he was taken hostage along with three other corrections workers at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, Feb. 10, from 5-9 p.m. at the Delaware State University Memorial Hall, located at 1200 N. DuPont Highway in Dover, Delaware.

A second visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

His funeral will follow at 12 p.m., and will also be held at the hall.

Burial services will take place at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, located at 6486 Bay Road in Frederica, Delaware.

Lt. Floyd was found dead after police stormed the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center early Thursday morning in Smyrna, Delaware, following a nearly 20-hour long hostage situation.

The 47-year-old grandfather is now being hailed as a hero for saving officers' lives.

A candlelight vigil was held for Floyd Friday in Smyrna, Delaware.
