NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A North Philadelphia business owner has to replace his Christmas tree after someone stole the display from outside his store.

Surveillance video captured the theft outside Eatible Delights Catering on the 2300 block of Ridge Avenue Wednesday night.

In the video you can see a man walking to and from the Christmas tree several times, casually unhooking it from the wall with each pass.

After a few minutes the thief knocks the tree down, dragging the entire thing across the street - decorations and all.

Owner David Simms says he won't let the actions of a Grinch get him down.

He tells us, "We will not allow this minor setback to kill the spirit, the spirit of what Eatible Delights does, the spirit of the community, who I am as a person. I grew up in New York City, and I just wanted to bring Rockefeller Center to Ridge Avenue."

Simms says he plans to put up another Christmas tree as soon as possible.
