Serial DUI offender pleads guilty in death of Chester County man

WEST CHESTER, Pa (WPVI) -- A man arrested 8 times for driving under the influence pleaded guilty Monday to vehicular homicide in the death of a motorcyclist in Chester County.

50-year-old Robert Landis of West Chester faces 8 to 17 years in prison for the death of 24-year-old Liam Crowley of Chesterbrook.

Prosecutors say Landis had just finished a 2-year prison term for DUI when the pickup truck he was driving pulled in front Crowley's motorcycle on the night of April 26, 2013.

Crowley suffered serious injuries and was taken to Paoli Hospital where he later died.

Westtown-East Goshen police later said Landis had a blood alcohol level of .28, more than three times the legal limit.

His arrest for the accident that killed Crowley marked his eighth DUI arrest.
