REHOBOTH, Del. (WPVI) -- Police have charged a Rehoboth, Delaware man with his fifth DUI offense after they say he crashed his moped while his toddler was sitting on his lap.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 19000 block of Golden Avenue in the Sea Air Mobile Home Park.

Police say 48-year-old Anthony Taglienti was riding his moped with his 2-year-old son on his lap in the park when he lost control causing both of them to fall to the ground.

The 2-year-old suffered several abrasions and was transported by EMS to Beebe Healthcare where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Taglienti was also taken to Beebe where he was treated and released.

Taglienti was then charged with his fifth DUI offense, as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Vehicular Assault 3rd, and Driving While Suspended or Revoked.

He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $17,200 cash bond.
