Man shot, critically injured after gunfire erupts in North Philadelphia

Several people are in custody after a shooting in North Philadelphia that left a 21-year-old man wounded.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- At one person is in custody after a shooting in North Philadelphia that left a 21-year-old man critically wounded.

It happened before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of North 4th Street.

Officers arrived to find the victim shot in the leg and buttocks and 21 shell casings littering the scene.

Three parked cars were also hit by gunfire.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police recovered a rifle at the scene and took at least one person into custody.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Philadelphia Police.
