Police say a man in his 20s was shot six times and killed execution style in West Philadelphia.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man in his 20s was shot six times and killed execution style in West Philadelphia.

The incident happened after midnight Tuesday in the rear of a storage warehouse at 55th and Sansom streets.

Officers responded to the area after a report of a person with a gun. They discovered a man on the highway, bleeding from his head from a gunshot wound.

He also had been shot in his legs.

Medics rushed the victim to the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the man was shot at point blank range. They believe he was the intended target.

The victim had no identification on him.

Police are checking cameras from the storage site and surrounding businesses for information on the homicide.
