A cell phone may have saved a 28-year-old man's life after a shooting in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.

PORT RICHMOND -- A cell phone may have saved a 28-year-old man's life after a shooting in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Friday on the 2000 block of Albright Street.

The man was standing on a corner when someone opened fire in the middle of the street.

Police say he was looking at his cell phone when the bullet ricocheted off the phone. He was cut in the lip.

Officers took him to the hospital in stable condition.

The gunman fled the scene.

So far, no word on a motive.
