Police are investigating a deadly ambush outside a day care in Southwest Philadelphia.

Police have identified the victim in a deadly ambush outside a day care in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 11 p.m. Thursday on the 1800 block of South 58th Street.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ricardo Cheadle was standing in front of the center when two men approached him.

Two shots were then fired at him.

Cheadle was struck in the chest, but managed to run to Trinity Street before collapsing.

He later died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

One bullet shattered a window at the day care and got stuck in a wall.

The center was closed at the time.

Police are checking area surveillance cameras.
