Man suffers serious burns in W. Phila. rowhome fire

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person was injured in a rowhome fire in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. inside a two story rowhome along the 500 block of North Simpson Street.

Fire crews searched the home and found the victim who is described as a man in his 40s.

The victim suffered second degree burns to his hands, face and legs. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

Crews were able to bring the blaze under control and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
