Men humiliated for domestic violence in North Carolina
If you do the crime, you have to pay the time.

NORTH CAROLINA (WPVI) -- If you do the crime, you have to pay the time.

But instead of prison time a judge in North Carolina sentenced three men to public humiliation after they pleaded guilty to domestic violence.

The men had to carry signs outside of the courthouse that read, "This is the face of domestic violence."

"Pure hell that's what it's like pure hell, embarrassment."

The men say they are innocent but chose to plead guilty so they wouldn't have to spend time in prison.

The men have to carry the signs in public for five hours a day.
