Pedestrian dead after being struck by multiple cars on I-495

EDGEMOOR, Del. -- Delaware State Police say a pedestrian is dead after being struck by at least four different hit-and-run vehicles on I-495 in Edgemoor.
It happened around 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes near Edgemoor Road.
The male victim was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck and knocked to the ground.
The victim was then struck by several other vehicles.
Police say none of the striking vehicles stopped at the scene.
Delaware State Police say the medical examiner will attempt to determine the identity of the victim. Once that is done next of kin can be notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
