Pedestrian struck by tractor trailer in Wilmington, Del. ID'd

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A man who is in critical condition has been identified after being hit by a tractor trailer on Wednesday.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. on 1-95 northbound just south of Delaware Avenue in Wilmington.

Police said that 44-year-old Mark Seward was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of I-95 when he stepped into the path of a tractor trailer.

Seward was then thrown into the roadway.

He was treated by medics on the scene for various injuries and then rushed to Christiana Hospital.

The driver of the tractor trailer did stop at the scene and wasn't hurt.

The left and center lanes of I-95 northbound around the crash were closed for two hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
