HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- More than 75 people were charged after an operation targeting drug trafficking operations in western Pennsylvania.
Pa. Attorney General Bruce Beemer announced the results of the operation on Wednesday. It followed a six-month long undercover deployment of the Mobile Street Crimes Unit in Beaver County.
The suspects are charged with various felonies, including delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. The investigations led to the seizure of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, prescription pills and other drugs.
"The Mobile Street Crimes Unit was created to bring law enforcement officers together to impact communities where the heroin epidemic and drug trafficking have taken hold," said Attorney General Beemer.
More than 50 of the individuals charged with felonies were being sought on active arrest warrants. Many of those individuals were taken into custody Tuesday during a collaborative sweep.
