WHITEMARSH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A school employee in Montgomery County is accused of sleeping with a student.

Michael Morse worked as an audio visual technician for the Colonial School District in Whitemarsh Township.

Prosecutors say he had sex with a 12th grade student at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

They say they have evidence the relationship between Morse and the student started before that student turned 18.

During the initial examination of the student's cell phone, investigators found that many of the text messages between Morse and the girl were deleted. The student allegedly admitted that the messages were deleted at the direction of Morse.

Police were still able to recover the deleted text messages, which corroborated the student's account, authorities said.

Morse is charged with Institutional Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact With Minor, Corruption of Minors, and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence.

He was jailed on $50,000 bail.
