A Maryland woman has been arrested on charges she torched her ex-boyfriend's brand new car, because she believed he cheated on her.

The Germantown man was taking out the trash last week when he saw his Chevy Malibu engulfed in flames, and his ex-girlfriend standing nearby.

When police arrested 18-year-old Hopesy Henriquez, they say she told them, "I set his car on fire because he cheated on me. I hope he never forgets it."

The unidentified ex-boyfriend said, "I honestly did not think she was going to do something like this. I don't care how mad you are, you don't set someone's car on fire, no matter what the situation is."

Henriquez now faces arson charges that could put her in prison for up to 28-years.

She said a music video gave her the idea to burn the car.
