TOMS RIVER, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Toms River Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a lewdness incident inside a dollar store.

73-year-old Gustavo Miranda of Berkley Township has been charged with Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Lewdness.

Police say on November 6, Miranda followed an 8-year-old girl up and down the aisles of the Dollar Tree store located on the 1300 block of Hooper Avenue.

At one point, police say he placed himself extremely close to the young girl and was within her "personal space."

Police say Miranda had his genitals exposed and in his hand.

The girl's aunt observed this and immediately confronted Miranda who then fled the store.

Authorities released surveillance photos which led to the suspect being identified as Miranda.

Miranda surrendered himself to authorities on Tuesday and posted a $75,000 bail.

Police are looking into whether there were other victims.

Anyone with information should call Toms River Police Detective Thomas Grosse 732-349-0150 extension 1263 or Ocean County Prosecutors Detective Lindsay Woodfield at 732-929-2027.
